There is something truly magical about how traditions come alive at Jonsereds Fabriker. Throughout the year, the historic factory grounds transform into a bustling marketplace during the popular Summer and Winter Markets.

These markets are a celebration of local culture, traditional crafts (“slöjd”), and delicious food from the region. It is the perfect opportunity to meet local artisans, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and take a piece of Sweden home with you

Summer Vibrations & Winter Magic

Depending on when you visit us, the markets offer two completely different, yet equally enchanting experiences:

The Summer Market: Filled with sunshine, outdoor seating, fresh flowers, and local crafts. You can stroll between the stalls with an ice cream or a cold beer from Poppels, enjoying the warm breeze by the river.
The Winter & Christmas Market: When the snow falls over the red-brick factories, the market turns into a winter wonderland. The air is filled with the scent of warm “glögg” (Swedish mulled wine), roasted almonds, and holiday music. It is the ultimate cozy winter experience.

We always keep our guests updated on the exact dates for the upcoming markets, so you can plan your stay around these wonderful local events. We hope to see you at our honey stall!

Meet Your Host & Taste Real Swedish Honey

If you visit the Jonsered markets, you will find a very familiar face there! As your host, I am proud to participate in both the summer and winter markets, where I sell my own authentic, locally produced Swedish honey.

There is nothing quite like the taste of real, raw Swedish honey, harvested from the local flora around our beautiful region. Be sure to stop by my stall to say hello, try a taste, and perhaps buy a jar to enjoy with your morning tea in the apartment or to bring home as a unique, sweet souvenir from your travels!

Morning: Freshly Baked Bread & Historic Strolls

Start your morning by stepping back in time with a peaceful walk through Jonsereds Fabriker (The Jonsered Factories). Follow the rushing river until you reach Brödfabriken i Jonsered aspectacular local artisan bakery located right inside one of the historic red-brick industrial buildings.

As soon as you open the door, you will be greeted by the heavenly scent of freshly baked sourdough bread and sweet cardamom buns. This is the ultimate place to experience a true, high-quality Swedish “fika”. Grab a warm cup of coffee, a flaky pastry, and sit outside in the charming courtyard by the old brick chimney.

*Local tip: Be sure to check the sign by the entrance door for their current opening hours so you don’t miss out on the morning’s freshest batch!* After your breakfast, you can easily continue your stroll over to the beautiful Jonsered Manor Gardens nearby.

Jonsered Manor & Gardens: A Royal Oasis of Culture and Greenery

Just a short, scenic walk up the hill from the historic factories lies one of Jonsered’s most enchanting treasures: Jonsereds Trädgårdar (Jonsered Gardens) and the majestic Jonsered Manor (often lovingly referred to as the “castle” by locals).

Dating back to the 19th century, this grand estate offers a breathtaking mix of rich cultural history, spectacular architecture, and award-winning botanical beauty. It is a peaceful oasis where time seems to stand still.

The Jonsered Manor itself is steeped in stories, having hosted prominent figures throughout Swedish history, including royals and famous writers. Today, the area is a vibrant cultural hub, hosting art exhibitions, small concerts, and lectures throughout the year.
